Learning more about Pink Floyd is a pleasure!
Thanks!
Just detected “If” and “Summer ’68” somewhere in the listening of either BD236 or BD237. Now, that’s a real treat. I dig those two rarely-heard tracks.
Lots of fun characters always popping up in Floyd’s song-o-graphy. ‘Charlotte Pringle’, ‘Arnold Layne’, ‘Corporal Clegg’, ‘Vegetable Man’ … ‘Jennifer Gentle’, …’Seamus the Dog’.
excuse me
echoes

Hi Jackaw,
You are correct! thank you! I’ve made the correction in the playlist.
🙂
At first I was confused because I couldn‘t believe that you did a mistake with the playlist (or that you mixed up the versions of „Echoes“), Doc. No, you were right (and wrong). This is the right playlist:
18. Pink Floyd – Echoes [Live At Pompeii]
19. Pink Floyd – Echoes [Empire Pool, Wembley London, 16. November 1974]
Great podcast, Doc, thank you!
Regards from Hannover
Hoffmann
Yeah, mistakes do happen from time to time. Thanks for the correction.
I’ve been having a debate over a new drum kit or this damn box set! Hearing this collection of great dance songs is making it hard
$550 beans for that set is a big nut. I think, and I could be wrong is the most expensive box set the Floyd has put out. I am a sucker for these box sets and love them. And I am really glad that they are putting a lot of love and effort into the “genesis” of Pink Floyd and Barrett’s genius. I paid a small fortune for the MFSL CD’s. Which are a must have for any fan. Some of the finest reproductions of the catalog out there. But this is going to be on the Christmas list. You do get a hell of a lot of stuff. But if it is of the quality of “Oh By the Way” it is a must have. I believe that The Floyd were one of the first bands to make “box sets” with the incredible “Shine On” from 1992. Looking forward to Christmas day for this gem!!
Doc – very good as always, many thanks.
Where does the DG quote at the end come/date from?
TC
That’s from the second night at Pompeii
Thank you a lot Doc,
It is always a pleasure to hear you in my car going to work
Keep going, and you are welcome anytime you come in france (near lyon)
Bertrand
This caught me at just the right time, totally grooving with the whole mess. Echoes twice? Absolutely! Basking in the glow.
Thanks.
Another great one, Doc! Extra kudos for a double-shot there at the end!
Thank you for taking your time and creating this. Much appreciated!
