Boston 1975 Matrix

Show #155, Release date: 16. August, 2010

This podcast is a huge improvement to Show #56 – It took forever to do this.  Honestly I’m glad its done but I’m so enjoying the rewards of having a killer sounding recording and now you can too. This one is made up of two sources painstakingly mixed together.  You really get a feel for the space.

The Boston Garden was a great place to see a concert.  It was built at the cost of 4 million dollars in 1928 by the same people who built New York’s Madison Square Garden.  It was originally called  Boston’s Madison Square Garden and eventually “Madison Square” was dropped from the name.  The Garden was demolished in 1997.

The Floyd live at The Garden, 18. June, 1975.  Most enjoyable are the performances of You Gotta Be Crazy, which is different from both the 74 and 77 Dogs versions.  The set also has great versions of Any Colour You Like and one of the last pre-87 performances of Echoes.

Before that, I have for you, audio of the video footage from the Hoping Foundation gig featuring David Gilmour and Roger Waters.  Please, if you can, give to the HOPING Foundation!

Cold Comfort For Change

Show #145 Release date: 01. December, 2009

Ivor Wynne Stadium, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, 28. June 1975. Here’s a gig that been long overdue for a podcast..

This features the second to last performance of Echoes with Roger still in the band.  Their performance is excellent and the sound is amazing (after fixing it up of course).

It was the last show of the North American Tour so in a dramatic finale, Pink Floyd’s crew decided to go out with a bang and used up their remaining pyrotechnics around the stadium scoreboard.  The explosion at the climax of the show was so intense it blew the scoreboard to pieces and shattered windows in neighboring houses.   All in the name of Floyd.

Please note this will be the last podcast of 2009.  I wish you a safe and happy holiday season and a peaceful New Year!

Cruel But Fair

Show #63, Release date: 21. July, 2006

Originally show #25, Air date: 11. February, 2005 – Los Angeles Sports Arena, 26. April 1975.  A Harvested release and an EXCELLENT recording of a complete 1975 gig.  After You Gotta Be Crazy, Roger says “It was a cruel song… but fair… next tune we’re going to do for you is another new number, it’s called Shine On You Crazy Diamond.  It has something to do with Syd Barrett, who some of you might remember… and some of you probably won’t.”

I Start the podcast with “Marooned” from the Bootlegging The Bootleggers section of the new P*U*L*S*E DVD, recorded at Valle Hovin Stadion, Oslo, Norway, 29. August 1994
