Redux

wallreduxsiteHappy Holidays!  This podcast is just another piece of random precision for you for this holiday season.

Ever since Roger released his Wall soundtrack, I’ve been playing around with recreating the entire evening’s experience, much like what I originally wanted to do for the Intermission podcast back in February.  This time I used the the film soundtrack but discovered that Roger removed several bits from the original live performance so I, very carefully, put them back using material from the June 2011 Duesseldorf gig.   Here’s the playlist.  Enjoy this little Christmas gift!

Floydness

DCIM100GOPRO

Floyd·ness
ˈfloidnəs/
noun: the condition or quality of being like Pink Floyd.

Its been a good year for Floyd fans sans Pink Floyd with both Roger and David giving us some new material.  It got me thinking, how much solo material could be good enough, to be Pink Floyd material.  David, Rick, Roger and Nick had their own style of course but they are were all cut from the same cloth. That Pink Floyd thread, if you will. Here’s the playlist.  Enjoy and please share your thoughts!  Please donate, and Thank you!

Sense of Occasion

venueHere it is, finally.  Friday night in beautiful London, the 25th of September at Royal Albert Hall.  By far the best of the three night stint (before the following two nights the previous week).

Ravingandrooling

bd225The title, “Ravingandrooling” is typed that way on purpose. I explain in the podcast but in short, this episode is dedicated to my friend Jeff Post.  For this is a two-fer.  First, Roger Waters at Newport Folk Festival and second, something very special.  Enjoy!  Its a long podcast.

By the way, you can still enjoy the first half.but I warn listeners to stop if they don’ want to spoil the surprise with the second half.  I’ll post the playlist later on.  Again, I don’t want to spoil any surprises. In the meantime, you can find the playlist embedded within the file of the podcast.

Some of It’s Parts

bd224This is a follow up of sorts to the “My Favorite Things” podcast #219.  For this, it’s my favorite solo bits from the latest to earliest of each solo effort. We hear David’s new material and Roger’s new song debuted at this year’s Newport Folk Festival.  Also included is material from Nick, Rick and Syd’s solo efforts as well (of course).  Hope you enjoy it.  Al always, thanks for listening!  Here’s the playlist

NYC 77

bd223Finally, here it is.  Recorded 2. July 1977 from the most often requested series of gigs during 1977 at Madison Square Garden, NYC.  Most recordings between the 1st and the 4th of July don’t live up to my high standard but there is this one master recording and its explosively excellent.  I tweaked it up just a little but for the most part, it didn’t need much.  We starting lighting things off with a Richard Wright track.  Please donate if you can.  Thank you.  Here’s the playlist!

By Numbers

color-by-number-letter-aHere’s a suggested theme idea… Floyd songs with numbers in the title.  Some strange things happen with numbers. Those with an interest in numerology should like this one. Also included is a fresh clean soundboard ONLY version of Rogers’ Pros & Cons from Chicago 1984 and we get to hear a sample of some new* stuff too!  Here’s the playlist

NOTE: as of 27. July 2015, the 40 second preview of David’s material has been removed at the request of the people handling David’s copyright interests. Its is my intention to respect such requests that do not fall within my blanket license that allows me to play other copyright material.

Stitched Up

lapseIf you loved the Raw Sound of Thunder or any of the other Momentary Lapse soundboard podcasts, then you’re going love this!  Its an early Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, soundboard recording (post “Echoes”, but don’t worry, I got you covered).  Live at the Brendan Byrne Meadowlands Arena, East Longmeadow, New Jersey, 11 October 1987.  Here’s the playlist!

Animals aux Abattoirs

paris77We are long overdue for a gig from The Animals Tour (as it was called in Europe).  This excellent recording is from the last of four consecutive nights from a rather fitting location that used to be a slaughterhouse.  Pavillon De Paris, 25th Febuary, 1977.  Another Harvested gem!  Here’s the playlist and here’s a ticket scan.

My Favorite Things

BD219I often get asked, “What’s your favorite Floyd song”?   That’s easy but I was recently asked, “If you had to pick one favorite song from each of Pink Floyd’s fifteen albums, what would they be”?  Not so easy.  I pondered over many tracks from each album and it was difficult to narrow it to just one but I did it and this podcast is the result.  See if you agree.  Here’s the playlist.
